I have never been a huge fan of portraits but I do like to experiment every so often to see how far I have come with all the lessons I have learned in Blender.
Just over a year has passed since I started using Blender as my primary rendering engine and workflow tool, every that I knew had to be learned again and I had to fully redesigning Evelyn and Fae to work in Blender, but a byproduct of this was that I started delving deeper into design and texturing to produce possibly my two best characters, Scorpio and Lenola.
Both were my first foray into the world of modelling far younger characters with Lenola being 3 years old and Scorpio 8 years old
My Aim was to make Lenola a sweet and lovable little ball of energy, bursting with life, where you could feel her excitement just in her glance, poise and wild hair alone, whereas Scorpio was rather different in concept.
With Scorpio being a warrior I wanted her to ooze confidence, determination and self belief, her self assured stance and look enough to unsteady most onlookers, kind of a "You can't beat her and she knows it" affair, even if she is only eight years old.
Truthfully they stand on the shoulders of Evelyn and Fae, they benefitted hugely from all the lessons that I learned by remodeling them but have come into their own with each tweak and step taken and if I am 100 percent honest, Scorpio is my personal pinnacle of design.
