Bringing My Dalle Girl To Life

Since testing with Dalle and giving it an exact recipe I had wondered if maybe rather than have the girl it created merely exist in Dalle somewhere if maybe she could be brought to life? After all I have a reference for designing the face and the rest I could figure out? Thankfully I make characters for my own written work, so welcome to the world Lenola.

My basic idea was for a polynesian child, I wanted the whole native dancer kind of vibe for her, coupled with the deep lush eyes that Dalle gave her and for the most part I wanted her to be an exact clone of the Dalle girl.

As my reference point was the face that is where I started, giving Lenola a slightly rounder face with a softer jawline than the Dalle version but matching everything else to suit, so I inflamed her cheeks a little and sculpted her lips to be close. Her nose would get the soft rounded slope as per the Dalle version but I reduced the size of the bulbous tip, only a little but to soften it just a little. For her irises I went for a really deep brown with an orange edge so that in low light they dig into your soul but in good light they radiate sweetly.

Next I worked on the body, making her roughly 3ft 5 or 100cm keeping her soft but feminine without making her weirdly shaped so that she retains her youthful look without just looking like a shrunken and restyled adult. Getting her arms and legs to fell proportionate was interesting so I added a little bit of size to her limbs, not much but to get that puffy limb thing that toddlers tend to have.

Skintone was going to be the big piece for me as I want her to be not deep skinned but very toned so that carries a soft and sunkissed skin, I worked her skin texture three times until I was happy with the balance of tone that came out with Cycles under normal, mid and low light, both direct and indirect too.

Dress was easy as I wanted her to be a hulagirl, so a grass skirt, coconut bra and a lei were my only real requirements though that will invariably change as I explore what she can do more.

I had been thinking about trying to bring my Dalle girl to life, then figured why not just give it a go?
