New Character - Carrie

Something had always annoyed me in the 3D world, in particular the world of female characters and in a way there is a strange irony to it for me, the thing that annoys me so, is the lack of diversity of shape and size in female characters, of course the irony being that Evelyn and Fae were both originally designed because of my frustration with exactly that scenario in the world of miniature figures for painting. Of course that frustration lead to me learning to 3D model characters and then through a strange series of events would lead me to discover that I am an author.

That situation still frustrates me, the thing is that I understand why the vast majority of female characters are generally perfect pin-up, sleek and slender kind of girls, after all I guess they are more saleable and if your business is to sell characters on mass, then it makes sense to sell a more desired or saleable iteration. But that doesn't make it right?

Last year I decided to start attempting to do something about that situation, modelling new characters designed to be different, but of course I didn't know that I would go on a 3 month rampage designing two new worlds and stories to tell, so they got sidelined to focus on bring those up.

Now the dust has settled a little, I wanted to go back and delve into these new characters too but also I wanted to use one to create a new story, the problem being that right now I am actively writing four further books in addition to promoting my first published book Life Downside Up.

So I don't have a lot of mental space to write a story just for social purposes or at least not one of the kind of depth that I tend to tell. This situation gave me an idea for a different kind of story, a silent story, a story told purely with images and no direct narrative, the hope being that people can follow along and hopefully make sense of the story and maybe it makes this story a little more directly relevant to them.

The story will feature Carrie, a new character and will be told under the heading Carrie and the Tropical Shield.
