Like anyone who proposes to be an "Artist" I am always looking for ways to develop and grow, searching for way to make my final work better in the process.
With a new story to tell I thought it would be the perfect time to start exploring an entirely new way to produce images as my subject matter is something entirely new and for me it makes sense for it to be shown with a new theory as a driving force behind the images.
Keeping hold of elements I have learned so far but incorporating new lighting techniques and composition ideas but I wanted to go a step further than that, so I had an idea, what if I built scenes more like a painter? Adding layer upon layer until I got my final product? Testing each stage before adding the next layer and thus the Multiple Layer Rendering System was born.
I started with Scorpio and Jela setting out the lighting and the final camera angle that I wanted for the final scene then added the additional characters in the background, setting them to match the scene. Next I added the environment and tested the lighting again and looked for flaws in my work, I had to recompose Jela as her underwear had breached the waistband of her skirt, finally I added a fine mist as a "fog of war" for atmosphere deepening.
This test scene is the first from Scorpio, The Last Hanukan using this system and also my first attempt at a combat scene of any kind so hopefully it doesn't look rubbish!
