The basic idea is to show the often unseen and forgotten side of conflict, the small people left behind that suffer for the unflinching wills and egos of leaders or military commanders, with the loss of homes, friends and everything else that is burned from the earth during conflict.

Originally I planned to do these images some time ago but with the advent of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict I opted to pull the plug on doing them for the time being but in truth maybe I shouldn't have done that as the message is unfortunately still rather poignant.

This image will make no difference or have any bearing the current situation but neither will simply forgetting what is happening everyday to people those few thousand miles away in Ukraine.
