For the past three years I have been working heavily on creating tribes and people for Scorpio's stories,
But rather than just making them up, I'm basing them on the real world, though the forgotten world,
The world that we so often pretend isn't there because seeing it makes us sad and/or guilty,
The people of the world that have little or nothing,
The ones we shy away from to avoid confronting how uneasy their poverty makes us feel,
While they may have very little or indeed nothing, what they truly have is so much more,
But the truth is that I have come to quite envy this much humbler world,
Could you imagine giving a child an old bicycle tyre and a stick and expecting them to enjoy it as much as a Playstation or phone?
Yet these children do,
In truth I envy them, the way that joy is still pure and life more honest,
I've been fortunate enough to travel and am lucky enough to work indirectly with photographers from around the world who have been more than willing to share sneak peeks of this forgotten world with me,
Even if they give so willingly and ask nothing in return the simple truth is that I can never be anything short of in their debt,
While I could create these people without them, the honest truth is that I wouldn't want to.
So introducing an ongoing homage, created for the people that help and continue to inspire me,
The Forgotten Children.
