Forgotten Places

Before the war came few knew the name of this place,

But when the first bombs fell the entire world knew name of this place,

For months the whole world watched this place being torn apart,

They promised everything but did nothing to save this place that they had named,

But as time slipped away so too did their interest in saving this place

However I never called this place what they did,

I called this place something far simpler,

A name that meant everything,

But now it means nothing all the same,

For fourteen years I gave this place the same name,

The name that I gave this place was home.
